Baby Jude March 1, 2008
Isn’t this the most angelic baby you have ever seen? This is one of my favourites. He needed a bit of a rest in the middle of the photo shoot. It was all too much! I used white sheeting on the floor and against the back wall. I used natural window light. It was a last minute shoot which I have kind of realized works best with kids. I stopped when Jude started crying. In hindsight I would have taken a few moments to capture those delicious sad faces that bring so much character to him. You can click on the photo to get to my flickr page and view the other photos taken this same day. A reflector on the other side opposite the window would have lightened up the kids faces where they are a little dark. Cassie Donnelly, our photography teacher suggested one of those flexible silver window shades for the car or white cardboard. It bounces back the light onto the subject. Another great tip I discovered through this experience is to remember to iron the sheet! There were a few photos taken and no matter how great the kids look, all I see is the creased sheet in the background! A lesson learned. Comes with the ground of being an amateur I guess.
